Re: [members-discuss] [ncc-announce] [news] Board Resolution to Suspend Creation of Multiple LIR Accounts

Of course there were not any notifications. I suppose, that main reason to run with such decision so fast is the fact, that somebody during GM just asked to open simultaneously for example 64 LIRs to get /16 equivalent in one shot. Expensive, but plausible. -- Tomasz Śląski pl.skonet W dniu 2015-11-19 o 14:44, Aleksey Bulgakov pisze:

Both measures together seem to have the desired effect. Gert Doering -- NetMaster -- have you enabled IPv6 on something today...? SpaceNet AG Vorstand: Sebastian v. What exactly desired effect? Some one told that IPv4 burning will help to move to IPv6. But we see inverse. ----- Best regards, Aleksey Bulgakov FastTelecom, CEO Tel.: +7 926 6908729 19.11.2015, 19:28, "Gert Doering" <gert@space.net>:

Hello, All this is *obviously* not working. for X in `jot 10` ; do whois -h whois.ripe.net ORG-PTEC${X}-RIPE ; done In my humble opinion until a "per exhaustable resource usage" fee is set up, such that who has zillions of unused IPv4 addresses pays willions euros any attempt to reasonably contain resource misuse ends up in comic situations. It has been said many times, and still remains ignored (no, the issue of "If RIPE sells IP addresses becomes a commercial entity" is not a good reason: first of all we had per-usage fees since always, secondly right NOW in THIS way RIPE is, de facto, selling IPv4 addresses, at the price of 3 euro each).
