As Peter and Gert wrote:

It seems unclear why We (ripe) should support ietf with a one shot payment.

Anyway I also would like to understand why IETF (today a big stone) don't ask its members/vendors for support. I could agree to use RIPE founds to support any organization that could not be able to have enough founds for specific reasons, but honestly, even if I know the IETF importance, I don't see any actions it tkake or took to support us (lir and ripe).

Use a so big admount of founds seems not clear.

My opinion is to refuse the ietf request or to give a scheduled and well documented annual support to be used for specific activity in benefith for both.

I appreciate any clarifications

What Peter says.

Supporting the IETF is good, with a yearly contribution to ISOC or IETF
directly.

Transferring our reserves to their reserves, I fail to see the compelling
reason why this would be in our (RIPE) interest.
