Dear Hank,
The 375K bad debt is based on 1% of LIR accounts being closed due to non-payment. Additionally, we look at trends from the past. Yearly, we close 120 to 160 LIR accounts due to non-payment, and we have an increased LIR fee for 2025.
In recent years we do see more uncertainty due to unrest in our service region, and this does have impact on our bad debts.

Kind regards,

Thanks for the quick response. A LIR that doesn't pay their membership dues - what happens to their resources? Does RIPE NCC seize or recover any resources allocated? Or does the non-paying LIR move their resources to another RIR in order to avoid payment? I'm just curious as to what measures RIPE NCC can take in order to receive full payment for services render. Regards, Hank
