Was wondering about that ... ;-)

Here are my views on it:
- RIPE is in a unique position due to its steadily growing member base
and therefor member fees to support IETF together with ISOC
- While RIPE members are mostly active in the in the Internets daily
business, acting as ISPs and a community actively developing policies
for this, I see ISOC (and also IETF meetings) in a more fundamental
position.
- Both positions combined will bring benefits to both communities
- I would like to see (over the last years I've seen more involvement
from people usually going to RIPE meetings, which is gret) more RIPE and
IETF folks exchange knowledge and ideas
- With this wish there's also an opportunity to attract a more diverse
group, especially from keen but underrepresented humans
- The RIPE and IETF communities have unique ways to meet up in person
and stay in contact after these personal meetings, which is a very
beneficial behaviour for everyone in those communities

I think there's still a lot more to explore and to get people into those
discussions.

TL;DR I express my support for the RIPE NCCs participation in the
long-term funding of the IETF
