Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC has published a Registration Services Procedure to help guide our members through the process of submitting an IPv4 address space request. The document can be found at: http://www.ripe.net/lir-services/resource-management/contact/registration-p… The aim is to inform LIRs about what is expected from them during an evaluation and what kind of information the IP Resource Analyst (IPRA) is looking for. This document covers the most common types of requests that reflect the business models and technology deployments in the RIPE NCC service region. Dear colleagues, The first combined Eurasia Network Operators' Group (ENOG)/ RIPE NCC Regional Meeting will take place at the Marriott Grand Hotel in Moscow from 6-8 June 2011. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with colleagues from the Russian region, key players in the global and local Internet industry, and RIPE NCC staff. The meeting is hosted by the Coordination Center for TLD RU. Register ----------- This meeting is free to attend, but you must register in advance. If you would like to give a presentation at this meeting, please send your proposal and slides to <meeting(a)ripe.net>. Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC Executive Board is pleased to invite you to the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM). The GM will be held on Wednesday, 4 May 2011 from 16:00-19:00. The GM will be held adjacent to the RIPE 62 Meeting, which takes place from 2-6 May 2011 at the NH Krasnapolsky Hotel in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The GM will consist of two parts: * The RIPE NCC Services Working Group session will begin at 16:00 and will include the presentation of the report from the RIPE NCC. This part of the GM is open to everyone. * The second part of the GM follows immediately after the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session and is only open to RIPE NCC members who have registered for the GM. This part of the meeting is the forum in which RIPE NCC members can discuss the operations and activities of the RIPE NCC and exercise their voting rights. As a member, you can attend both the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session and the members-only section of the GM without being registered for RIPE 62. Executive Board Elections -------------------------- Voting for the appointment of two RIPE NCC Executive Board members will take place at the GM. The vacant seats are for two three-year terms. In compliance with the RIPE NCC Articles of Association, the RIPE NCC is calling for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, 13 April 2011. Details on the RIPE NCC Executive Board election process, including how to nominate candidates, are available at: https://www.ripe.net/gm-may2011/board-elections Candidate members are welcome to attend the GM but are not permitted to vote according to article 16.7 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Full members who are not able to attend the GM but still want to vote can do so by means of proxy voting as per article 16, or by voting electronically. Electronic Voting ------------------ Electronic voting in the RIPE NCC Executive Board elections is possible for those participating remotely and for those attending in person. Invitations to register for electronic voting will be sent to the registered contact persons for all members. We updated the procedural document because ripe-511 contained a redundant paragraph that was also referencing another procedural document (ripe-475) that was obsoleted. [Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC, after receiving feedback from the RIPE community on the draft version, has published the procedural RIPE Document ripe-517, "Closure of LIR and Deregistration of Internet Number Resources". The document is available at: https://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-517 This document replaces sections in two RIPE Documents that deal with the closure of LIRs and the deregistration of resources: - Sections 3.0 and 4.0 of ripe-301, "Mergers, Acquisitions, Takeovers and Closures of Organisations Operating an LIR". These sections are entitled "Closing an LIR" and "When an LIR is Closed by the RIPE NCC", respectively. This document describes the RIPE NCC procedure when contacting End Users of independent Internet number resources who have not yet entered into a contractual relationship with sponsoring Local Internet Registry (LIR) or the RIPE NCC. It also describes the possible consequences if End Users of independent Internet number resources fail to respond when approached by the RIPE NCC or are not compliant with the policies of the RIPE community. Dear RIPE NCC member, In compliance with the RIPE NCC Articles of Association (AoA), the RIPE NCC is calling for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The vacant seats are for two three-year terms and are to fill the places currently held by Fahad AlShirawi and Andreas Wittkemper, whose terms expire in May 2011. Voting for the appointment of the RIPE NCC Executive Board members will take place at the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM). The GM will be held on Wednesday, 4 May 2011 from 16:00-20:00, at the NH Krasnapolsky Hotel, Amsterdam, adjacent to the RIPE 62 Meeting, which takes place from 2-6 May 2011. You must be registered for the GM if you wish to attend and vote in the Executive Board election. Registration for the GM opens 23 March 2011. Information on the GM is available at: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/gm/may-2011 If you would like to vote but cannot attend the GM, there are two options that enable you to vote in the Executive Board elections: 1. Electronic Voting All RIPE NCC members who are registered contacts will be sent invitations by email to register to vote electronically at the GM. If you wish to vote electronically, you must register to do so by 20 April 2011. Electronic voting is available only for the Executive Board elections. Electronic voting will not be available for resolutions to be voted upon at the GM. 2. Proxy Voting You can be represented by a third party who is not an authorised employee or director of your organisation. If you wish to do this, please fill out the proxy form and send it to us by 20 April 2011. Any proxy sent to us after this date will not be valid. The proxy form will be available to download from 23 March 2011. Nominations ----------- A nomination for the appointment of a member of the Executive Board requires the written support of at least five members. You must be a RIPE NCC member and a registered LIR contact to support a nomination. Nomination submissions should include the following information: - Your full name - Your organisation - Your LIR RegID - Name of the candidate you wish to support Nominations must be submitted by email to <agm-nominations(a)ripe.net> by Wednesday, 13 April 2011, following the guidelines outlined in article 9 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. A nomination for the appointment of a member of the Executive Board shall need the written support of at least five Members. If three weeks before the General Meeting the number of candidates nominated for appointment as referred to above does not exceed the number of vacancies, the Executive Board shall have to nominate one or more candidates for appointment so that the total number of proposed candidates shall exceed the number of Executive Board members to be appointed by the General Meeting.
