Hello all, The reason for those lists is because the normal member-discuss list is moderated. In other words: the RIPE NCC staff decides what messages will be send to all members, and which messages aren't shown to the members. To give an insight to all members to which messages aren't send to the main mailinglist, they created these unmoderated lists, on which all messages are shown. This way, the RIPE NCC can prove that they don't play favorites, and hide messages that they don't like or something. Kind regards, Tijn Buijs On 04-03-2025 17:34, Jochen Bern wrote:

These mailing lists appear to be almost entirely full of spam/garbage Is there much reason to keep these lists around? I assume keeping it this way poses some challenges towards MTA IP reputation at the very least, and people who are subscribed to a mailing list have some stake in ensuring that they can continue to receive email from RIPE mailing lists!
... how many people(!) *are* subscribed to those lists in the first place? I'd hope that most actual users subscribed to *that* kind of content would have stampeded for the unsub button quite a while ago, if the backscatter from their antispam solution hasn't gotten their list delivery auto-suspended already, anyway ...
(No active subscribers, no outgoing listmail, no ill reputation resulting, right? ;-)
Kind regards,
