Dear Vesna, This is again me, Andrei Sukhov from Samara State Aerospace University, Russia. My presentation called "Evaluating the Effectiveness of Geographic Routing Based on RIPE Atlas Data" accepted as the sectional one to the TELFOR2014 Conference. This is regional IEEE conference, that is held in Belgrade from 25 to 27 November. Version of the paper is attached to this letter. When preparing the presentation I understood that for the measurement of efficiency of the global geographic routing it is better to use the one way delay (OWD). In the meantime, the current system only measures the round trip delay (RTT). I have a question - whether have you plans for the modernization of the system? Some points could be equipped with a GPS synchronization device. Since the previous measurement system (RIPE Test Box) such devices are much cheaper. We now try to test the accuracy of such measurements using a simple GPS/GLONASS device for time synchronization. For Russia, the mechanism of the OWD measurement is important, because the distances between settlements are significant ones, optimal geographic routing with help of regional points of traffic exchange is a very important task. It is also important to exchange domestic traffic inside the country. In order to build a monitoring system in the automatic mode, the our described method can be used. But it will be able to operate reliably for the OWD measurement. Sincerely yours, Andrei Sukhov
