New on RIPE Labs: Southeast Europe Country Report and Online Discussion

Dear colleagues, Today we’ve published the latest in our series of country reports, this time shining the spotlight on Southeast Europe rather than focusing on an individual country. This is the fourth such country report that the RIPE NCC has produced as part of an ongoing effort to support Internet development throughout our service region by making our data and insights available to local technical communities and decision makers alike. The report takes stock of the current IPv4 and IPv6 resource holdings in the Southeast European region, looks at the history of development of the Internet industry, and assesses its opportunity for future growth. We also examine the region’s access to the global Domain Name System (DNS), look at how traffic is exchanged within the region, and identify the different paths and operators providing access from the rest of the world. Hello Everyone, Please forgive me for not writing an official response in first set of Ronald's online madness months ago, I was out of hospital after full anesthesia and it took me months to get back to myself. Ronald is misery person with nothing and with no one in his life, the only joy that he have in his life - is for him to serve as the front person of the illegal anonymous organization "The Spamhaus Project". Here is a presentation that "The Spamhaus Project" wrote on themselves (in the following link) and according to it Spamhaus is an illegal anonymous organization - they receive a massive amount of illegally obtained privacy data of internet users from internet companies and internet organizations on a regular basis - and then they share it in illegal way (without any warranty) with law enforcement agencies. https://www.scribd.com/document/445894312/Spamhaus-Illegal-Private-Data-Vio… Ronald doesn't deny himself being part of "The Spamhaus Project", not only that - but his old friend Hank Nussbacher is also part of the illegal anonymous organization "The Spamhaus Project", Hank reminds me Judas Iscariot - Hank obviously have other interests - it is very sad to see a person at the age of Hank acting like a little child. All the few reports that were made were made by reporters which are connected to "The Spamhaus Project" and that are part of "The Spamhaus Project" - not only that, the source of the media reports is a person in "The Spamhaus Project" which is the owner of that illegal twitter account: https://twitter.com/underthebreach , that person is a criminal according to his own words in his own twitter account - and that person is also a master of cyber influence operations (just like what Coconut Guilmette and Cheerleader Nussbacher are doing here, to influence public opinion without any single proof) - and the owner of that twitter account is also an employee of the israeli-based company GeoEdge which financially benefit from that media report because they are a direct competitor of the company using the exact same netblock, so now I'm explaining to you that that root of this all fake story is just business competition, and in addition Coconut Guilmette also attacked the Israeli-based company Divinetworks in Nanog (Coconut Guilmette searched an unreasonable way why they received a specific grant from a global world organization and also defamed them) - so here is why he did it - the Israeli-based company Divinetworks is also a direct competitor of the Israeli-based company GeoEdge - that their employee is a criminal and the owner of the illegal twitter account https://twitter.com/underthebreach and also the "source" for the fake few media reports. In the following link you can see how a high manager in GeoEdge is highly proud in how customers attracted to him after the "low value" of competitors, if only the world would knew how that company does business. https://imgur.com/7DF1NSP That company GeoEdge is not only a criminal company in the way that they do business (because their criminal employee in "The Spamhaus Project" is the one pumped Coconut Guilmette proof-less ideas), but that company is also a criminal in the way that they are tax-evading since 2005 (they are registered in Cyprus with fake-single-owner abroad while they have more actual hidden owners in Israel that didn't pay any tax for their income since 2005, and one of the registered owners is using an international fake name and he is a professional money-laundering person, not only for that Israeli company). They (Coconut Guilmette, Cheerleader Nussbacher and their mob friends at "The Spamhaus Project") are very very afraid of me releasing all the information that I found out on the illegal anonymous organization "The Spamhaus Project" - and that is the only reason that they are attacking me personally in such way, they are trying to ruin my good name - but they didn't succeed and they will not succeed - because anyone that knows me and anyone that will personally know me - will know what they are trying to do and that what they are writing is 100% false. All the personal attack against me - is only because I dared to stood up against "The Spamhaus Project" which is intimidating and hurting many businesses online, and I would and will do it again and again and again, I'm not the kind of a misery bendover jew like Hank that will sell his values and his being for a title, a group acceptance or a few cents. The encouragement of Cheerleader Nussbacher is even worst because Cheerleader Nussbacher is encouraging someone which is a racist and an antisemitic. Hank, how more self-hating jew can you be ? to support such person only to be part of an illegal anonymous organization ? to support racism ? to support antisemitism ? And to the rest of the community, anyone that wrote to this person - "nice story, but you could say it in other words" - you are a lowlife as Hank is, you don't treat a racist or an antisemitic person with tolerance, period. Looking for topology validation

Diamond-Miner[3] combines Paris Traceroute Multipath Detection Algorithm[1] and high probing rate Yarrp[2] techniques to trace the load balanced paths at Internet Scale. We are seeking now some validation of our inferences from operators, in particular the traceroutes links that we have found. De-bogonising 2a10::/12

Dear colleagues, We have now started de-bogonising 2a10::/12! As part of this, we are announcing a couple of prefixes out of 2a10::/12 from AS12654 (RIPE's Routing Information Service, RIS). Pingable targets have been configured in these prefixes, and we invite network operators to test for themselves whether this address space is reachable. The simplest way to do this would be to perform a ping6 to 2a10:4::1 . Using RIPE Atlas and RIS, we will also be carrying out our own tests in order to investigate connectivity and filtering for this address space. We plan to share our results with the RIPE community via RIPE Labs within the next few days. MAT WG as an advisory body for RIPE NCC tools

Greetings, all, We ran out of time today to discuss the proposal I alluded to at the beginning of the meeting, so I'm taking it to the mailing list: I would propose that we make the role of MAT WG in providing information and advice to the RIPE NCC's tools teams more explicit. In this proposal, mat-wg(a)ripe.net mailing would be considered a primary channel for proposals for features for RIPE Atlas. These proposals would then be discussed on the list and/or during MAT WG meetings, and once the discussion on converges, the outcome passed to the RIPE NCC tools team as advice. This would turn the current process, where the tools team disseminates updates about current work and future plans, into a two way street. While I propose that this should be more explicit, I am not proposing that this be made more formal: this would not use the PDP, and would not be in any way binding on the NCC. Measuring MANRS readiness

Dear colleagues, At RIPE 76 I shared some ideas about how to produce longitudinal measurements related to routing (in)security (https://ripe76.ripe.net/archives/video/147/) The request from the WG was to share a more detailed description of the framework as it shapes up. I attach the description of the framework and the metrics that we (with NLNetLabs as a partner) started to calculate and store. It also contains references to the data sources. The latter are to be extended, we are already working with a few data providers, and if you have ideas about other potential ones - appreciate your suggestions. Below is the summary of the framework: Measurements To measure MANRS readiness for a particular network a set of metrics has been proposed, one for each action. For example, to measure to what degree Filtering (Action 1) is implemented we will measure the number of routing incidents where the network was implicated either as a culprit or an accomplice and their duration. That will produce a number – an indication of the degree of compliance, or a MANRS readiness index (MR-index) for Action 1 for a specified period of time. The measurements are passive, which means that they do not require cooperation for a measured network. That allows us to measure the MR-indices not only for the members of the MANRS initiative, but for all networks in the Internet (at the moment more than 60,000). Internet development campaigners, national regulators, and policy makers in the developing regions are recognising the crucial role that Internet measurement data can play in facilitating evidence-based policy-making and regulation. Given that the Internet ecosystem comprises a diversity of stakeholders and service providers it is difficult for any other single entity to access all of Internet topology data without the cooperation of the Internet community. For this reason, appropriate acquisition of Internet data requires a variety of cooperative research methods, including wide distribution of Internet probes for technical measurements, located in diverse locations and networks, as well as region-specific techniques and demand-side surveys on Internet access and use. The aim of the workshop is to facilitate discussions around mechanisms and challenges of measuring Africa’s Internet; to evaluate the breadth of Internet measurements research and to formulate strategic directions for such research in Africa; and to initiate and accelerate collaboration among Africa’s Internet measurements researchers.
