Am I the only one who can't pay their fees ?

I have now faxed my credit card payment form to RIPE on three ocassions to two different numbers and today I get my suspension notice. Am I the only one that appears to be at the sharp end of this potential incompetence or are other having problems with financially sensitive data / faxes going missing at RIPE ? I still think that the focus on non-core activities within RIPE is wrong, and these types of administrative problems only help reinforce my view. rgds, -- Peter Galbavy

RIPE NCC Operations have contacted Peter to solve his fax problems. Regards, Mally Mclane RIPE NCC Operations

I am somewhat puzzled by the phrase 'solve his fax problems'. I have very few other fax issues so I would suggest, as politely as my mood will allow, that these are potential RIPE fax / administrative 'problems'. Peter

I couldn't agree more.

Neil, we agree ? When was the last time ? :-) For those who do not our (cough) background... peter

I found the page: https://www.ripe.net/cgi-bin/regpayment and entered my details. I got error for both the invoice number and my e-mail address. Double checked both. Are people implementing these systems truly that poor that 'peter.galbavy@knowtion.net' comes back as an invalid e-mail address ? And if the online payment system was implemented after my invoice was issued then the correct UI thing to do is to say 'sorry, payment for this invoice is not available via this page, please contact the NCC' etc. I am getting pissed off now for two reasons - one, as far as RIPE is concerned this appears to be 100% mny fault and two, they build systems that have never appeared to have been tested. I saved to HTML output for any interested... No. I can't believe this. No. I am on the phone right now to someone in billing department - sorry I am not good at spelling Dutch names - and wait for it... THEY GOT MY ORIGINAL FAX IN JANUARY. WTF ? Apparently the form did not have an expiry date or an e-mail address on it. I don't think I would have been that stupid, but hey - I might have been busy servicing clients and just signed whatever my accountant sent me before faxing it through... In the meanwhile they are capable of sending three reminders but are not able to contact me via a dozen different e-mail addresses, and not once mention that they actually have a fax but that there is information missing. Instead I get half truths about missing faxes and the like. I am really, really, really pissed with the NCC at the moment. I hope my public outburst may raise enough of a fuss in-house so that someone pulls their finger out and does something to fix problems for other members. To the management at the NCC: Stop trying to prove that you have done everything perfect at all times, and instead try seeing your incompetence from a busy (small) LIR point of view. Peter
