My, I hope reasonably correct and not too long winded comments:
I think this was a very well-structured summary. Just one additional clarification:
The NCC has members who pay membership fees and gain neutral services for those fees. The services are defined/agreed by membership via activity plans etc.
Typically those members (the LIRs) are organisations (ISPs, companies, associations,...) and, depending on their size and thus financial contribution, can control a certain number of votes in the NCC's AGM (the Association's General Assembly).
Many NCC members, called "Local Internet Registries" are also participants in RIPE. You "participate" in RIPE rather than being a "member" as it doesn't have a formal organisational structure.
However, even if a person happens to be affiliated with an LIR, the person participates in RIPE as an individual! In the sense of one person, one point of view to be considered for consensus development. Right? Wilfried.
