Hi all, Ludger Bornhorst wrote:
On last RIPE-Meeting in Stockholm i heard about a new mail distribution robot at the RIPE NCC.
For your further information, the robot - for which we use the catchy name "autohmdist" - seems to be working fine, apart from one problem caused by x400 failure messages which we will install a fix for tomorrow.
It can indicate what type of mail is sent to the RIPE hostmasters and check wether it is a RIPE-141-Template or an ordinary EMail.
Or any of the other mails we deal with - see: http://www.ripe.net/lir/services/status.html
I assume this robot is written in PERL.
Yes. We use Perl 5.004 on BSD 2.1 and BSD 3.1.
Now i'd like to know if it is possible to provide the source of this robot for download for all other LIR's? Maybe it could be usefull for us/them.
We are currently cataloging all our internal software and when that is done we plan to begin releasing to the community the tools that may be useful for them. A problem for potential users of these tools is the use made by each tool of other internal and external tools. The mail robot, for example, requires sendmail, rtt - the ticketing system manager, reg - the registry database manager, auto-hm - the 141 request handler, and these tools also make use of other tools. Also note that our internal tools are written and tested on BSD only. Cheers, Maldwyn
