Dear local-ir's,
We have received a number of IP address space requests for airline companies in the past. During the IETF, I learned that a class A network number (network 57.0.0.0) has been assigned to an organisation (SITA) under the condition that airlines will get any address space required from this allocation.
If you receive an application, please forward them to SITA. If there are any difficulties, please forward the request to <hostmaster@ripe.net>
I would think that this is legally totally untenable. I know of at least one airline that is not a network customer of SITA and forcing them to become one is probably not in the cards. Simon
