In case it might be useful to others, Oliver at Demon Internet sent us the URL's for a tool he developed for checking assignments made from your block against entries in the RIPE database. You can contact him if you want more info <oliver@demon.net>. ------- It assumes you have a file called "ALLOCATIONS" or something which contains entries in the format: (Class C's specified a.b.c.0) <Begin Class C> [ - End Class C ] NETNAME {anything else} It reads this file, and then checks those addresses against the RIPE database, listing *all* entries, and emphasising gaps and entries where the ALLOCATIONS NETNAME doesn't match the returned one... Script is perl5... ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/perl/tools/ripe-check Also, re the ripe-hdl script... ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/perl/tools/ripe-hdl which converts a person: <Names> line into a person: <Names> line plus a nic-hdl: <handle> line. -------
