A sensible way would have been to put it up on the RIPE web server, and just send the URL to the list.
Besides this, sending winword is impolite anyway. I can't read it (no windows machine here) without having to ask a collegue from a different department to print it for me. If you want to send formatted document, politeness would ask for PDF.
