My recommendation: If your addresses do not come directly from a NIC, then get the allocation IN WRITING and SIGNED ! If your provider will not sign for it, then apply directly to the NIC.

Just small addition to your recommendation: Be aware, the addresses you'll get from the NIC may significantly decrease the number of destinations you'll be able to reach -- your connectivity is likely to be adversely impacted. Yakov.
