draft-odell-8+8-00.txt
I know this draft, but still don't know what to think about it :-).
It proposes to split the IPv6 adress space in two equal size parts. One part is the "end system designator" which basically identifies an interface. Besides being globally unique it needs no other properties. The other part is called "routing goop" and contains topology information on how the end system is connected to the global internet. The consequence is that the functions of routing and uniquely identifying are fully separated. This provides quite some freedom to get the routing information right and make full use of it. Very interesting idea. Daniel
