All, I hate to interrupt our normal process discussions, but I liked this article by Iljitsch van Beijnum on Ars Technica yesterday: http://tinyurl.com/yaqu3f9 Maybe not news for folks here, but a nice explanation of different views of how much space is actually available. Sadly, I think the summary is correct: "it's now too late for a smooth IPv4-to-IPv6 transition, so prepare for a bumpy one where we run out of IPv4 addresses before there is widespread IPv6 adoption."
