draft agenda (v2) for IPv6 working group RIPE39
Hi, Below follows the second draft of the agenda for the ipv6 wg. The current plan is to use the second part of our session for ipv6 policy discusions. This part will be a joint session with the local-ir working group. This draft agenda will be used for the printed version of the agenda. However, I am still accepting additions to the agenda until friday. Please let me know if you have any other topics that you want to have discussed or if you would like to volunteer for a presentation. We still have some time left in our agenda for additional topics. Hiya all, You might also want to read my thoughts on the same issues sent to this list on 8th Feb 2001, viewable at: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/mail-archives/ipv6-wg/20010101-20010401/msg00017.ht... or http://www.djp.net/ipv6/proposal.html In summary: What we presently have is unworkable - at the least it will result in fragemented routing announcements. Utilisations of 80-90% are unachievable with IPv6. We need a better solution with much less emphasis on conservation and a fair allocations of bits to internet hierarchy and infrastucture. Additionally, allocations should fall on 4 boundaries (as I believe was originally intended) to simplfy notation/understanding and prevent some mistakes.
