Isnt this proposed topic of the kind: "See? no traffic, we should shut down IPv6!!! Nobody is using it!!!" or "Bahhhh, i was right... IPv6 is worthless..."
Those who support that point of view would do so anyway, either backed by real data or by data made up on the fly :-)
no. it is wanting baseline measurement. e.g. apnic is tracking hits on ip6.int service.
five years from now, we will wish we have such data.
randy
Randy, I agree. Nevertheless a brief summary on projects (looking at quality instead of sheer "volume") would still be interesting, I guess. Wilfried. PS: David, I can bring a few minutes' worth of snap-shot info for our sandbox.

of course. that too. it's just that, wearing my researcher hat, when five years from now i get an insight [0] which i need to test against historical data, it would be very good if those historical data had been collected, and collected in a regular and consistent manner. and, as an operator, it would also be interesting to know, for example, how much has v6 traffic multiplied in the last year. has there been a factor of two growth? in europe? in the states? in asia? and where, in particular? randy --- [0] - and i believe insight and analysis are what counts in research, not fifty pages of stupid numbers.
Hello. Will the presentation on Nafsica Room be available later? (would like to be there, but i have to be on Cisco's SAA EOF...) Thank You. Well, at the SAA EOF, discussing the size of T version images with the "Cisco-Man" he told that inside Cisco the motto is regrouping IOS families and not creating more, with smaller sizes... Seems like our problem getting native ipv6 to customers'/low resources cisco routers (flash/memory) has no end at near sight... :-( ./Carlos "Networking is fun!" -------------- [http://www6.ip6.rccn.net, IPv6 only] http://www.fccn.pt <cfriacas@fccn.pt>, CMF8-RIPE, CF596-ARIN, Wide Area Network Workgroup F.C.C.N. - Fundacao para a Computacao Cientifica Nacional fax: +351 218472167
In your previous mail you wrote: Will the presentation on Nafsica Room be available later? (would like to be there, but i have to be on Cisco's SAA EOF...) => yes, it will be available at least in PDF. Francis.Dupont@enst-bretagne.fr
It will be soon (hopefully). I sent the thing to RIPE-NCC staff yesterday. Cheers, Mohsen.
