I'm sure that whoever wants to break their IPv4 connectivity can nicely do so at home. "Just because IPv4 is broken for people" is no compelling argument to reduce the usefulness of the meeting network for those that have no IPv6 yet.
At least this time you can relatively easy bypass the NAT by using IPv6 and there is still time to find out about the worst problems like you mention above and make it work.
*I* could live quite well with an IPv6-only network. But that's not the point.
