Can anyone give me some real world experience with IPv6 numbering on P2P links in their network?
I've seen the recommendations swing from '/64' to '/127 if your equipment can handle it' and even to 'do not assign anything at all just use link-local' and access your devices over the loopback which your IGP will distribute.
The last option seems interesting to me from a IP assignment point of few. It safes me having to allocate a block for this part of the infrastructure. I'm just wondering if in the long run it will not make life harder.

Hello, on our side we use /126 for P2P links. I've heard some others using /64 or /127. Some allocate a /64 but configure a /126 to always have :1 and :2 in order to avoid mistakes by calculating the good hosts ip addresses. Here is my point of view on how we can subnet an IPv6 subnet : http://www.as8218.eu/frnog-ipv6-subnetting.pdf It's not intended to be a best practice but this is how I've done on AS8218 network (the example1 in the pdf from page 11 to 22). Have a look at page 17-18.
