I certainly missed something in the discussion but I cannot register a route object for my new sTLA. Apparently, the proposals described in <URL:http://www.ripe.net/ripencc/about/presentations/apricot0202-extending-rpsl /> were not implemented (the database keeps telling me ***Error: Syntax error in "afi inet6 2001:0910::/32" or "class invalid" if I try a route6 object).
The proposal is still under discussion. You may have a look at the latest version of it at http://www/ripe/mail-archives/rpslng/2002/msg00084.html. It was circulated on the rpslng@ripe.net mailing list where most of the discussion took place.
Is there a proper way to register route objects for IPv6? How people who built BGP filters from the database do?
There is no standard way of doing this at the moment. There were not many comments on the proposal mentioned above so I believe it will be published soon as an internet draft. We plan to implement ipv6 and multicast support in the RIPE Database and IRRToolset after it becomes a standard. Regards, Andrei Robachevsky CTO, RIPE NCC
