This time the reality is that as long as Android can't connect to a IPv6 only network without some manual hack it is a no-go there.
I think I need to clarify: I'm *NOT* suggesting making v6-only network a default one, deprecate dual-stack SSID or anything like that. I propose just to change the way we are calling it and get official support. That's it.
Guess my English failed me - as long as there are "bugs" like this Android one out there a IPv6 only network is a no-go. In that respect, I think the experiment so far has succeded. It has proven there is a showstopper for IPv6 only out there. Now we just need to wait for a fix:)
However - on a more serious note. We might consider to stop calling it an experiment as a starter. Then we could see if it's possible for the RIPE tech staff to run it for the next meeting. The password could stay the same so it's clear to people that it's not an official network just yet, it's a pilot, pre-release or something.
OK, so you agree with all my suggestions except for changing the password? Well, I think we can reach a consensus then ;)
Then we could reevaluate how things worked out and what is missing before it can become a permanent thing... ?
Absolutely.
agree :-) ... another thing that hit me, what about seeing if the BCOP effort can help RIPE OPs to run the IPv6 only network? :) -- Roger Jorgensen | ROJO9-RIPE rogerj@gmail.com | - IPv6 is The Key! http://www.jorgensen.no | roger@jorgensen.no
