Could you say whether the issues raised in 'discussion', possibly by the "ops types" you referred to above, are to do with management of support infrastructure if the host ID field is mandated to be derived from the EUI-64 identifier rather than assigned by administrative fiat?
yes. but there is no substitute for clueful folk actually participating constructively in ietf wgs. ops types are fairly sparse voices.
