IETF Work on transitioning techniques for multicast traffic (Tom Taylor, PT Taylor Consulting) The IETF has produced a number of tools for transition from IPv4 to IPv6, but most of them have not been specifically applicable to multicast. One tool that is specifically applicable is Automatic Multicast Tunneling (AMT, draft-ietf-mboned-64-multicast-address-format-04), which is in production in the AT&T network. RFC 6145 applies to stateless translation of multicast as well as unicast, but there is as yet no multicast equivalent to RFC 6052. Several existing drafts provide additional tools for dealing with various multicast transition scenarios. Even though they have operator support, most of them are gated on receiving evidence of more widespread support before they can proceed. The purpose of this presentation is to provoke a discussion of which if any transition scenarios will be common enough to be worth the effort of standardizing tools to deal with them. The results will be used to feed back into draft-ietf-mboned-v4v6-mcast-ps-00 in the MBONED Working Group. M. Why NAT64 must win (Andy Davidson) 5 to 10 year view of IPv6 transitional technology N. Results of the 2012 Global IPv6 Survey (Maarten Botterman, GNKS Consult) As in previous years, the Number Resource Organization (NRO) conducted a survey on the current and future use of IPv6. The purpose of the survey is to better understand where the community is moving, and what can be done to ensure the Internet community is ready and moving toward widespread adoption of IPv6. Hi, Our working group is scheduled to meet on: Wed, Sep 26, 2012, 14:00 - 15:30 in the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam. We have prepared a first draft of our agenda. We do have an extra optional timeslot available on Thu, Sep 27, 9:00 - 10:30. Our current agenda topics already pretty much fill up this timeslot and we anticipate that we need the second optional timeslot if we receive more proposals for discussions and talks. Therefore, we would like to ask you whether you have any other topics that you would like to discuss during our next working group session. We don't require you to have slides, or that the topic needs to be very long: the more important thing is that it is pertinent and useful for our participants in helping to continue the ongoing deployment of IPv6 in the RIPE service region and beyond. The slot that IAD has allocated to us is: 1330 - 1630 CEST on the 29th of Sept 2012 I am aware so far, that opsec is planning to meet in the same location from 0900-1200 and the SIDR has an interim scheduled for the entire day that Saturday.
