Peace,
Just ran over an update on my daughter's handheld console, and the update
brought in some IPv6 support!
It still lacks many things, honestly, doesn't work fine on an IPv6 only
network, and only supports DHCP for the IP address acquisition but hey,
it's a progress!
...
A bit of a context for those unaware: Nintendo Switch — the 3rd most
popular video gaming console *ever* — was a major blocker in deploying
end-user home access IPv6-only networks for a *decade*, in my experience.
It didn't support IPv6 at all until late, which has been mentioned in some
talks at RIPE meetings as well.
Now we'll just have to wait until the legacy Nintendo consoles wear out
quick — the task that, judging by the console build quality, the
manufacturer was as eager as us to achieve.
And the enemy left will be, mostly, babycams and surveillance cameras.
