Hello everyone,
Sorry for the lack of correspondence - we _have_ been
working on IPMT, just not had much to report.
We have now made an IPMT web page on the RIPE web site,
with the easy-to-remember address:
http://www.ripe.net/ipmt
Please let me know if you have any comments on the page,
or the documents there. There is currently the original
old block-diagram, a UML Class Diagram and a UML Use-Case
Diagram.
I drew the diagrams with Dia, a nice Open Source
diagram editor, but I am afraid the exported PNGs are
quite large ( my screen is big :-) ), and I couldn't
see an easy way to reduce the diagram size in Dia.
The files aren't big in terms of KBs though.
I had a play with a simple database backend, and it
handled all assignments in a slash 14 with ease, and
was not that slow for a whole slash 8 - even using the
simplest text database. The idea is to make it easy for
anyone to get a simple system going, with no "real DB"
backend, but let "power-users" easily plug their existing
DB in.
I am now working on OO Perl modules to sit on top of
the above, with full functionality but still just
command line.
Cheers,
Maldwyn
