Five years of home IoT: the scars, catalogued :) :) :)
Hi all, I thought that the fellow IOT enthusiasts could potentially be interested in this little experiment... I run a small Home Assistant instance across two flats in two countries and just for fun of it I finally wrote up what living with that is really like. For example a safety automation that switched an air conditioner ON in an empty flat, a map of the flat's electrical wiring drawn with six smart plugs and a 2 kW heater, a house ghost that is completely useless, and a television whose missing audio is fixed by switching the amplifier off :) https://jan.zorz.si/HA-automations/ Just a few (sometimes sarcastic) thoughts and experience building and running home automation, what we can do with it and most important - what not to do :) Feedback and thoughts welcome! Have fun and cheers, Jan Žorž -- Anything that can be configured can be misconfigured. [RFC5505]
