[iot-discussion] Fwd: [Int-area] Liaison statement received from ITU-T regarding a "Reference Model of IPv6 Addressing Plan for Internet of Things Deployment"
Hi, This seems to cover areas where RIPE IPv6/IoT people might have some expertise. Cheers, Rob Forwarded message:

Hi all, The IETF has received a liaison statement from the ITU-T that their Study Group SG20 is inviting inputs from the IETF regarding a work item titled "Reference Model of IPv6 Addressing Plan for Internet of Things Deployment” and the deadline for providing inputs is 2018/01/28. The statement can be found at
https://datatracker.ietf.org/liaison/1546/
I have no further info and I am trying to get access to the referenced documents. I just want to provide a heads up while that is in process.
Thanks Suresh

Hi Rob, Thanks for the heads-up, we have already been in touch with the IETF liaison manager regarding this. People may recall RIPE NCC (and the other RIRs) received a similar request last year, the request and our response to the liaison is also posted on our website https://www.ripe.net/publications/news/industry-developments/ripe-ncc-suppli... Please feel free to refer other people to our response. We are still tracking this work and during last Study Group 20 meeting made a contribution together with our colleagues from ARIN, in which again we pointed out that these matters are better addressed in the respective RIR communities. Explaining that these type of documents, advice on IPv6 address plans, should be based on operational experience and expertise. Groet, MarcoH RIPE NCC

Marco is being modest here. The liaison statement that was sent to the IETF is a direct result of the fine work Marco and his colleagues from ARIN did at last month's SG20 meeting in Geneva. Says someone who was in the room when those decisions were taken. We (Marco and I) offered to help the author of SG20’s IPv6 document bring it to RIPE, possibly at RIPE76. Let’s see if that invitation is accepted.
Hi Rob et al, Is it possible to have access on the documents referenced in the page http://www.itu.int/ITU-T/workprog/wp_item.aspx?isn=13693 Cheers, Dimitris Στις 03/10/2017 11:04, Rob Evans έγραψε:

ITU documents are generally only available to ITU members. Recommendations -- ITU’s final standards publications -- are freely available. If you know a member and they have a TIES account, they should be able to get hold of the documents you’re looking for. Though I’m not sure if they’re supposed to circulate them to non-members. FWIW there appear to be 4 Greek ITU members: https://www.itu.int/online/mm/scripts/gensel9?_ctryid=1000100608&_ctryname=Greece
