Yes, that number may still be in the hundreds of millions. More often than not, the UPnP required for automatic opening ports did not work. Industrial IoT, which is often an integrated verticle usually has a controller; whether it's on-prem or cloud is another question. Meanwhile, I feel surprised that CSA/Matter has not taken off more.
