Hi, I don’t know how many of you will read this… but apparently there are some issues with trams and metro lines. Alternatives: take bus 18 from Central Station or bus 145 from Museumplein. Michela

Dinner and Beer on Thursday

Hey, Thomas and me will be in town starting tomorrow afternoon/evening. We will meet in the Lounge of Bob’s Youth Hostel[1] at 7pm/19:00 for Dinner and Beer. Tell me if you want to join and we should wait for you or show up on time ;) Can anybody recommend something reasonable in walking distance? Otherwise we’ll decide on the spot. Hi all, See you all tomorrow at the Technologia Incognita Hackerspace, Louwesweg 1, from 10.00 onwards! Remember that we start officially at 12.00 sharp :) If you have any problem… you get lost… you don’t find the tram… here you have Vesna’s phone number: +31 6 21258191. You can also call Vesna if nobody of us is at the entrance and you don’t want to wait 10 minutes: we will come downstairs to check if more people arrive every 10-15 minutes. If you are late (after 12) you will need to call: we won’t be at the entrance anymore after 12. Questions? Let us know now! :) And for those of you already meeting tonight: have fun! Michela

R library for accessing RIPE Atlas data

Hi, I'm thinking about working on the data in R, so I'm thinking about writing a package for accessing the data in R. If I get the chance this week, I might write that package before the hackathon itself. Is anyone else thinking about using R? If yes, this might motivate me further. Also, I have yet to decide which aspects of the API to wrap for R, so tell me if there's anything you particularly want. Tom

About meals and events

Hi all, Just another reminder and some more information about meals and events. IMPORTANT! Remember to bring with you your own laptop, chargers and converters. Food and drinks will be provided throughout the event with the exception of Saturday dinner as you will be free from 18.00. - Friday 27 March We start officially at 12 at the TechInc Hackerspace: https://wiki.techinc.nl/images/2/27/Tech-Inc-ACTA-public-transport-snel-v6.… If your hotel is located in the city centre the easiest way is to take the tram number 2, which leaves from Central Station and runs across the centre. For those of you that can come earlier, we will be happy to receive you from 10 onwards. Lunch: we will have standup lunch with sandwiches and various soft drinks and juices. Dinner: we finish at 18/18.30 and then we will walk downstairs to the restaurant, inside the same building, to enjoy a tapas dinner. It will be a mix of meat, fish and vegetables so it should fit all dietary requirements. - Saturday 28 March We start at 9.00 at the RIPE NCC office, Singel 258. How to get there: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/contact/office-location Breakfast will be served from 9.00: croissants, bread, jam, butter, coffee, tea and so on. Lunch will be served at 12.30: Pizza (vegetarian and non vegetarian) and salad. We finish at 18.00. Evening is free. Enjoy Amsterdam! - Sunday 29 March We start at 9.00 at the RIPE NCC office, Singel 258. Breakfast will be served from 9.00: croissants, bread, jam, butter, coffee, tea and so on. Lunch will be served at 12.30: Pasta (vegetarian and non vegetarian) and salad. At 15.00 you will start presenting your works. At 17.30 we leave the RIPE NCC office and we go to the location of the party: the Tara Irish pub, Rokin 85-89. At the party there will be the announcement of the winning teams, we will have a couple of drinks and enjoy a mix of hot and cold snacks. Internet access

Hi, I have been having trouble with connecting to wireless internet over the past couple days and would like to have something to fall back to in case I don't manage to fix it by next week. Will wired internet be available? If yes, I'll bring a wire. If no, I'll get a USB wifi thingy or something. Thanks Tom
