Hi all, as you (maybe) know, RIPE NCC is giving moneyz to (mostly) FLOSS projects every year: ripe.net/cpf Who gets the funding is decided by the volunteers from the RIPE community, who form the selection committee. Each member has committed to serving a minimum term of one year (and a maximum of three) to ensure continuity. **Call for Selection Committee Members 2021** https://www.ripe.net/support/cpf/selection-committee Do you have a keen eye for emerging talents and innovative ideas? Would you like to shape the development of projects that will help the technical community? We are currently looking to fill two open slots on the selection committee. Committee members will need to serve terms of between one to three years and review applications from early August until late October of each year of their term. If you are interested in volunteering your time to serve on the selection committee, please submit your application before 31 March 2021. Dear colleagues, as our tenth event, we are hosting our first IoT hackathon (Internet of Things) on the weekend of 12-13 October in Rotterdam. The two-day event is aimed at developing IoT technologies and providing a platform for the community to collaborate, experiment and gain hands-on experience in developing IoT solutions. We have decided to combine the hackathon with the RIPE Meeting that will take place from 14-18 October, also in Rotterdam: http://ripe79.ripe.net We are looking for participants that are passionate (or sceptical!) about IoT and want to work on real-life, practical projects. Dear all, Many hackathon-related things took place during the recent RIPE Meeting. We asked you about your preferences for possible hackathon topics, and we announced that we are looking for interested parties to help us organise our next events. ---------------------------- The IoT Hackathon ---------------------------- The IoT hackathon will take place over the weekend before RIPE 79: 12 - 13 October 2019, in Rotterdam. Co-organisers: RIPE NCC, Lexta Consultants Group & the IoT Working Group chairs ------------------------------------------------------------------ The Pan-European Quantum Internet Hackathon ------------------------------------------------------------------ While we still have to work out the precise date, we do know that we will tackle Quantum Internet topics in November 2019. This hackathon is being organized in cooperation with Quantum Internet Alliance. True to the quantum spirit, the hackathon will take place across Europe at multiple ‘nodes’ or locations at the same time. For now, the "nodes" can be found at Delft (the Netherlands), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Paris (France), Dublin (Ireland), Padua (Italy). ------------------------------------------------------------------ Network Automation in 2020 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Most answers to our poll were in favour of "network automation", and we will consider organising a hackathon around that topic in 2020. We are now looking for more supporters for all of those events! Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC and Juniper Networks are co-hosting the first RPKI deployathon - a two-day event which will bring together network professionals to work on practical aspects of routing security. We are excited to announce our ninth RIPE NCC "hackathon"! This time, our content focus will be on routing security and in particular the Resource Private Key Infrastructure (RPKI), and the format focuse more on deployment, and less on software development. We are looking for participants who want to learn about RPKI, and receive some hands-on assistance while deploying it. Specifically, we are looking for: * network operators with access to routers * network engineers from all possible backgrounds (Enterprise, ISP, CDN, Content Providers, etc.) * & administration staff that have access to the RIPE NCC’s LIR portal You do not need to have prior knowledge or experience on routing security to attend the deployathon.
