Today, it is a crucial part of everyone’s daily life. People use the Internet for their social life, for their daily jobs, for routine shopping, and for keeping up with major events. An increasing number of people can access a Gigabit connection, which would be hard to imagine a decade ago. And, thanks to improvements in security, people trust the Internet for both planning their finances and for everyday payments. At the same time, some aspects of end-user experience have not improved as much... The IAB is holding this workshop to convene interested researchers, network operators, and Internet technologists to share their experiences and to collaborate on the steps needed to define properties and metrics with the goal of improving Internet access for all users. Interested participants are invited to submit position papers on the workshop questions. Paper size is not limited, but brevity is encouraged. Hi all, as you (maybe) know, RIPE NCC is giving moneyz to (mostly) FLOSS projects every year: ripe.net/cpf Who gets the funding is decided by the volunteers from the RIPE community, who form the selection committee. Each member has committed to serving a minimum term of one year (and a maximum of three) to ensure continuity. **Call for Selection Committee Members 2021** https://www.ripe.net/support/cpf/selection-committee Do you have a keen eye for emerging talents and innovative ideas? Would you like to shape the development of projects that will help the technical community? We are currently looking to fill two open slots on the selection committee. Committee members will need to serve terms of between one to three years and review applications from early August until late October of each year of their term. If you are interested in volunteering your time to serve on the selection committee, please submit your application before 31 March 2021.
