RE: [enum-wg] Links to country web pages concerning ENUM activiti es

Hi Bernie, We are intending to include some existing numbers and validation mechanisms that have been mentioned as possibilities are similar to those already being used elsewhere, such as: - Caller-ID verification - SMS verification - Presentation of a bill showing number - Signed declaration - Declaration from Carrier responsible for LNP of the number range However, in Australia we are currently trying to resolve the issue of who has the right to register the number (i.e. the end-user or the service provider). We hope to resolve this shortly as most of the interest in experimenting with ENUM in Aus relies on existing numbers. Other trials have given this right to the end user and it seems that this is the intention of ENUM, however this is not universally accepted. On this topic we read with interest the Internet draft on carrier/user enum service registration. Regards, Arunas. Hi Arunas
As have figured out from your webpages, you are currently permitting only a special range of 100'000 E.164 numbers for ENUM, so you do not really have a big issue with the validation yet.
What are your plans concerning validation, once you start to allow the registration of existing E.164 numbers?
cheers, Bernie

Hi Arunas Thanks for this insight from downunder. Is it planed that the (Tier-1) Registry will get and store validation related information along with any ENUM domain name, e.g. information such as validation method applied, expiry date of validation, validator, ...? cheers, Bernie On Fri, 8 Jul 2005, Arunas Silinis wrote:
