There seems to be a new ENUM related open source package available at http://www.internetnz.net.nz/public/enum/index.html I haven't looked into what it provides (yet) - i've just seen from the README that it somehow interacts with Asterisk. More news as we get it - test in progress. cheers axelm

In this I/D we describe e.g. requirements, ENUM Provisioning Model and Roles, Validation Process Assumptions, and so on. The I/D also reflects experiences from our running implementations. This document can also be used as an introduction to ENUM domain name provisioning and in particular to ENUM validation related processes. Hi Bernie, We are intending to include some existing numbers and validation mechanisms that have been mentioned as possibilities are similar to those already being used elsewhere, such as: - Caller-ID verification - SMS verification - Presentation of a bill showing number - Signed declaration - Declaration from Carrier responsible for LNP of the number range However, in Australia we are currently trying to resolve the issue of who has the right to register the number (i.e. the end-user or the service provider). We hope to resolve this shortly as most of the interest in experimenting with ENUM in Aus relies on existing numbers. Other trials have given this right to the end user and it seems that this is the intention of ENUM, however this is not universally accepted.
