Greetings! Following the very full meeting this morning we have some suggestions for the RIPE Activity plan for 2001. 1 Assigned IP Address block for IXPs 2 RIPE db Object for IXPs 3 Formal space in the RIPE db for Peering contacts 4 Best Current Practice for IXPs - document to be coordinated by Nic Lewis from LINX - nic@linx.net 5 Repository for tools used by IXPs - ie traffic/port monitoring, fault/support tracking, accounting, etc. If you have any other ideas that you think should be suggested to the NCC - or I have misrepresented something, please follow up to this mail. The reference for the current RIPE activity plan is: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-197.html -=-=-=- Visit the local IX There is an opportunity to visit the BIX - Budapest IX. If there is interest please find me at the meeting or send me mail and we will try organise something. The site is fairly local. Balazs Martis - the BIX chairman was unable to attend the meeting due to a timetable clash but has offered the tour. -=-=-=- EIX-OPS mailing list If you have previously presented to the WG and wish to join this closed list for IXP operators please send me mail off list. -=-=-=- Presenting at RIPE 37 Please come and present at the next meeting - we all can learn from each other, every IXP is different and the group benefits from your input, no matter how large or small you are. If you are a member if an IX please encourage them to present at a future E-IX meeting. The next meeting will be in Amsterdam - September 11-15 2000. -=-=-=- Switching Wishlists for vendors Mike Hughes presented very briefly on the opportunity to present wish lists to vendors. Since the meeting I have had one vendor representative say that they are keen to have this dialogue with IXs. Mike has posted to the list and hopefully will follow up with a url to his presentation once it has been HTML'ised. -=-=-=- Thanks to Henk from NCC for acting as scribe through two full sessions. Meeting minutes to follow. -=-=-=- See you at a social event or RIPE 37:-) Cheers f
