Hello, The European Football Championships 2012 is about to start and we are teaming up with Euro-IX to look at Internet Exchange Point (IXP) traffic during the tournament. New version of EIX-wishlist available

Dear EIX-WG members, A small group of individuals began to generate a new version of the "EIX Switch Wish List". The draft is now available at http://homepage.univie.ac.at/~hm/eix-wishlist-DRAFT.pdf We'd like to make now a step to version 4.0.0. So if you find any mistakes, please tell us by April 20th (last day of RIPE64 in Ljubljana) - if you like to add or change something (content/structure) we'd favour to make that in a version 4.0.1. Dear Address-Policy WG, (cc'ing the EIX wg due to "this is where the proposal came from") after a very lifely debate in the early stages of this proposal, you have been VERY quiet in this review phase. Specifically, *no* comments have been voiced, and this is not enough for the proposal to go anywhere - so unless I see a few more comments really soon now, we'll have to extend the review phase. Please let us know whether this version 3.0 of the proposal is what you want to see become policy, or whether you oppose it. Dear group, we are putting a couple of Bird route servers with an IXP manager front-end to Slovenian internet exchange (SIX). At route servers, we are using the well known model for BGP communities: block announcement of a route to a certain peer 0:peer-as announcement of a route to a certain peer ix-as:peer-as block announcement of a route to all peers 0:ix-as announcement of a route to all peers ix-as:ix-as How do you handle the announcements with no community set? Do you request that "announcement of a route to all peers" is set in order to announce the prefixes from your IXP route servers? I will appreciate your feedback, thank you. RIPE63 follow-up proxy-arp

IX's partners, During last RIPE63 meeting I toke 2 actions: A/ BGP SOO extended community 0.X (AS=0) on IOS XR was not supported. à This has been fixed and integrated in recent release. B/ To see if on low end platforms we could change the default for proxy-arp: in IOS proxy-arp is on by default, this not the case for IOS-XR or NX-OS. We check with our different partners (including service-provider, enterprise and consumer customers). We can't change the default, lots of enterprise applications and consumer application need it by default. What we are looking at now: adding a CLI knob "auto-security [service-provider|enterprise|data-center]". This knob if used with service-provider argument will automatically change few default value and turn off proxy-arp. You should expect to see this features within coming releases.
