Re: [dns-wg] DNS migration draft - new version
Brad, many thanks for your constructive input. You've made a number of very helpful suggestions. However I feel that document editing by mailing list is not an efficient way to make progress. Please bear that in mind. Fernando's document will be presented and discussed at the WG tomorrow. [Listen to the webcast if you can't be in Manchester!] I plan to ask the WG for volunteers for a small Design Team that could work on the document. IMO this will be a better and quicker way to edit the document. And of course the final draft would get posted here for everyone to review.

Sorry, I didn't realize the time frame. I also didn't realize that I was going to have such extensive comments on such a relatively short section of the document. Jim, It is not possible for me to be in Manchester tomorrow but I´d be glad to be part of that small team to work on this document though. IMHO if this results in a ripe-doc to guide the DNS community it should focus on the operational issues leaving some theoretical or even political aspects aside. If we achieve this, again in my humble opinion, the document could be the "never written guide we needed during that IP migration ...". In esence we could have a good guide for DNS administrators who are involved in any of the situations described in the document. I had the chance to comment some of my opinions with Fernando about the document and I will be happy to keep on talking with him and the WG about it so if you want to count me in I´ll find some time for this.
