It has been said a few times at the 24th RIPE meeting in Berlin that a mailinglist for Top Level Domain adminstrators has not been created yet. (Action point 23.2 was still considered open.) This is not true, however. The mailinglist was set up in the week after the 23rd RIPE meeting. The announcement of this has been sent to the DNS working group mailinglist. ======

I'm sorry, I cannot explain why but I lost that mail. Also anybody who might have got it wasn't prompt to remember that during the WG meeting in Berlin. Anyway, thank you very much. The list is there so let's start using it... During the last meeting I proposed myself as a sort of list administrator who could take care of subscriptions/deletions and such. I understand from Geert-Jan's message that RIPE-NCC is willing to take care of that. I then propose the following actions: - get from Guy Davies the addresses of all the people who answered the TLD questionnaire. - add them to the list - send to each one of them a short welcome message After that start the list activity asking the list members about the inclusion of IANA and xxx-NICs. BTW, I personally agree about that. Blasco

As requested at the last RIPE meeting, I have set up a new mailing list for TLD administrators: tld-admin@ripe.net. This is a closed mailing list; per request of the WG, only people who are maintaining a TLD are allowed to subscribe.
As we need to verify requestor's affiliation, please send subscription requests to tld-admin-request@ripe.net including the name of the TLD you are administering. Please keep in mind that we need to verify things by hand and therefore some time may lapse processing requests.
The maillist is archived, but again only privately so if you need a copy of the archive, please ask tld-admin-request@ripe.net.
I'd like the TLD-admins to consider if they feel it is a good idea that the parties listed in RFC1591 (IANA, APNIC, InterNIC and RIPE NCC) are also allowed to subscribe or if the list should be restricted to TLD admins only.
Let's party!
Geert Jan

Things have progressed a little beyond that. The mailing list is set up, and maintained at the RIPE NCC. About 25 people have subscribed. There was consensus to invite IANA to the list. Traffic has been a bit low recently. People still wanting to subscribe can send a request to tld-admin-request@ripe.net. Please include your credentials (as in 'I am the administrative contact for country xxyyzz') as it is a closed list (by request), and we need to verify the requestors. A mailing list archive is maintained by the RIPE NCC and available to the subscribers by request. Geert Jan

Fine. I understand that you just wait for the TLD admins sending subscription requests. I still think that it is at least the case to check those subscriptions against the addresses who sent the answers to the questionnaire and solicit those who have not yet subscribed. Blasco
