In fact the RIRs are mumbling about having a common policy on this. We should know more after Ed's presentation and the panel session in Barcelona next week. My hope is there will be enough commitment for the subject to become a work item for the WG. This subject is going to become more important and there's a gap here that will need to be filled, possibly soon. IMO the WG is an ideal forum for the discussion to take place because of the combination of operational, policy and standards issues that are involved.

although it has a slightly different purpose/view, the audits that I've been running since 1997 do collect "lameness" information that we don't use. there are a number of distributed collectors out there and a centralized analysis pod. --bill Opinions expressed may not even be mine by the time you read them, and certainly don't reflect those of any other entity (legal or otherwise).
