Call for input for the 73 DNS WG meeting
Dear WG, It is time to prepare for the meeting <https://ripe73.ripe.net/> in Madrid ES and especially for the DNS WG meeting. The provisional planning has two WG sessions scheduled in the afternoon Thursday 27 October. This is the usual call for input, presentations, suggestions for discussions. Please let me or us (== <dns-wg-chairs@ripe.net>) know what you'd like to present, share, or talk about. This is also to announce that one of the co-chairs (Jim Reid) is stepping down. Therefore we need find a new co-chair according to our section procedure [1]. jaap, speaking for the co-chair collective [1] <https://www.ripe.net/participate/ripe/wg/dns/dns-wg-chair-selection-process

Is Jim trying to get away, or willing to serve another term? (Phrased differently, I'm not sure if this is considered to be "the end of the second term" according to process, as "the first term" would have happened before these terms were defined (excuse the pun)) Gert Doering -- NetMaster -- have you enabled IPv6 on something today...? Jim is not trying to get away. He will be going away. Well, as a co-chair anyway. I’ll still be coming to RIPE meetings. I’ve co-chaired the WG for 15 years (yikes!). So it’s time for a change and for this Old Fart to make way for a fresh face. This year's iteration of the WG’s appointment procedure will be a convenient opportunity to do that. The news shouldn’t be a surprise because I announced it at the WG session in Bucharest last year. In fact, I'd planned to step down last year but Peter beat me to it.

In that case, enjoy your retirement :-) - "chair emeritius". And thanks for the service to the community for all these years (yikes indeed!) :-) Gert Doering -- NetMaster -- have you enabled IPv6 on something today...? SpaceNet AG Vorstand: Sebastian v. Thanks Gert. Though I’m not quite ready to become a piece of furniture! :-)
Some time ago I wrote (for the co-chair collective):

Some contributions trickled in and I know it is customary to wait on the last moment, but it would be nice if we had a programme ready soonish. So, if you intend to contribute, please let us know. TIA, jaap
