If it helps, in .uk we accept in any format, including dotted quad embedded in ipv6 and always output in compressed lower case. If you want an example see the whois entry for ml-associates.co.uk
just for clarification: you're _not_ accepting "IPv4-Compatible IPv6Addresses" or "IPv4-Mapped IPv6 Addresses", are you?
We are accepting IPv6 addresses where the last four octets are given in dotted quad notation. So of the form 2001::0010:192.168.1.1 We had a very long discussion about this with a registrar quoting RFCs back and forth and in the end agreed to do it. Jay
