I have no idea.
However this list is not the place to discuss this topic further. It's essentially a local policy matter and is therefore inappropriate for the DNS WG. If someone wants to set up a mailing list to debate this, please go ahead and do so. Tell us where it is and how to subscribe and unsubscribe. Other than that, I would appreciate it if the discussion of alternate roots stopped in this list. Thanks.
Jim, Jay asked a question I responded. Then _you_asked a question I responded too. Hardly a discussion. I will be glad to keep responding, as this is a key issue (cf. RFC 3869, 3.2.1 last paragraph), but you may want to keep your mails private as did others. As Randy says, we try to run the real internet in here. We agree, even if I am not sure about what "real" means in this case? Anyway, I apologize if I gave anyone the feeling that I was talking about "alternate root" or a "local policy matter". This was not the intent nor the case. jfc
