Outreach to local communities for RIPE 76
Hello, One of the things that we wanted to do to increase diversity was to reach out early to communities near where the meeting is being held. We didn't do that for RIPE 75, but no matter, RIPE 76 is coming up and we have time! Does anybody have suggestions about how we do this? We might consider: * Local universities * Regional IXP * Regional NOG * Local hacker spaces * Programmer clubs & groups I don't know any of these in Marseilles, but maybe someone on the list does? Cheers, -- Shane
The regional IXP in Marseilles is France-IX, which I believe is the meeting host, so I’m sure they’ll be doing whatever they can. Sent from my iDevice; please excuse terseness and typos.

Hi, I did talk about local contact already at BalCCon with Nenad , who lives & works in Marseilles. He has many contacts with the local technical community (and the global hackers community :) , and he is willing to help us with the advice on making RIPE 76 even better! I've put him in touch with Amanda (about child care) and Martina (on other logistics), and now I am cc-ing him on this message. Nenad, can you please comment on some of the questions below? Thanks, Vesna On 31/10/2017 15:14, Shane Kerr wrote:

Hi, in addition to this, we could reach out to the participants of the training course(s) that we've held in Marseilles, since we do have a prior relationship with them, and ask them for help / invite them to the meeting... I am adding Olivia & Rumy to see what other ideas they have about this. Regards, Vesna On 31/10/2017 15:14, Shane Kerr wrote:

Hi, I think it is a great idea. But unfortunately our software does not allow us to gather this information. Probably SWE can help you to fetch this information. Maybe you can ask them. Cheers, Olivia On 01/11/2017 10:14, Vesna Manojlovic wrote:
