The task force has initiated many activities that have been implemented in the meantime, such as childcare at RIPE Meetings, the Women in Tech sessions, the mentoring programme and the new RIPE Code of Conduct. In agreement with the members of the task force, I proposed to close the task force. This proposal was approved by the RIPE 84 plenary and is now reflected on ripe.net: https://www.ripe.net/participate/ripe/tf/ripe-diversity-task-force This does not mean that our efforts to increase diversity and become more inclusive in the RIPE community are over. But after this topic was successfully kicked off by the task force, it has evolved into a larger community activity and is the responsibility of all of us. The Diversity mailing list has always been open to all and I would like to encourage you to subscribe and participate in this effort: https://lists.ripe.net/mailman/listinfo/diversity There is still a lot to do and I have already heard some good suggestions at RIPE 84: - Take the Women in Tech session to the next level - Continue to collect useful data to measure success - Reach out to students and newcomers and expand the mentoring programme. Call for Nominations to the Community Projects Fund Selection Committee

Dear colleagues, We are searching for two volunteers for the Community Projects Fund Selection Committee. We are especially interested in diverse candidates! https://www.ripe.net/publications/news/announcements/call-for-ripe-ncc-comm… The RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund provides EUR 250,000 a year for projects supporting the Internet resilience and operations. You can read more about the types of projects awarded in the past here: https://www.ripe.net/support/cpf/previous-funding-recipients The Selection Committee, comprises of five volunteers who review all the proposals we receive, rate them and make a selection. Hi Karla, One of the initial tasks of the Diversity Task Force was a review of the RIPE Code of Conduct. Once the Code of Conduct Task Force was formed, the Diversity TF took a step back but kept the mailing list active. With a new Code of Conduct in place and the remaining milestones of that TF in sight, we will now review the scope and charter of the RIPE Diversity TF. Having said that, I would like to clarify that a RIPE Task Force will not get directly involved in anything related to RIPE NCC leadership or hiring. Folks, Does anyone know the status of the Diversity Task Force at RIPE? https://www.ripe.net/participate/ripe/tf/ripe-diversity-task-force I note that there is a web page; but no current activity. Besides Vesna's excellent postings. I note that the lack of diversity in the RIPE leadership and those who give keynotes and closing talks are exclusively male at SEE10. Interesting that it's the same guy giving both the keynote AND the closing address. I could do SO much better, personally. Women need to be allowed to speak... not only on behalf of support services but as leaders. It was "explained" to me by two members of the executive board (the lone woman on the executive board wasn't present at SEE10, sadly) that there is no diversity problem at RIPE; notwithstanding that the Leadership page is all-male: https://www.ripe.net/about-us/staff/structure If we don't have women at the leadership circle, we are not diverse. And I won't even get into the hiring practices. Thank you for that tip, Vesna! Sadly the link you provided for the *inar today gives me a not supported error in both firefox and chromium. Same on turning off vpn, please advise. I'd love to come, as I am still looking for a job but finding my communications, teamwork and leadership skills increasingly irrelevant in a society that values those qualities exclusively in men.
