Archiving the "Action List"

As seen on the website, the Database Working Group has an Action List, instead of an Action Movie. https://www.ripe.net/community/wg/active-wg/db/action-list/ From a basic perusal of them, this seems to be a basic tracking system of TODOs and Proposals. Notice it says "last updated 7 May 2009". I propose we simply archive this list. If anything is still relevant, please bring it up as if it were new. Peter Hessler, On behalf of the DB WG Co-Chairs

Hi everyone, Nobody against retiring the Action List has made themselves known so far. I would like to ask anyone in favor of keeping the Action List to come forward until the end of this month. Otherwise, I would suggest that the RIPE NCC archives the Action List at the start of June. David Tatlisu, On behalf of the DB WG Co-Chairs On 5/16/25 11:16 PM, Peter Hessler wrote:

Hi! Excuse my late comment. I'm catching up on a few mailing lists. I'd like to start by saying that I support archiving the Action List. That said, I have a few comments and questions. First, the "last updated" date is clearly incorrect, as the action numbers were assigned based on RIPE Meeting numbers, and the last entry is 66.5, which corresponds to RIPE 66 in October 2013. Second, the list is incomplete. There were action items after RIPE Meetings 67-71, presented by Nigel Titley in his updates - most likely until RIPE 72 (1), when Job also did the first NWI review. This raises the question: what is the purpose of archiving the list? Do we intend to make it obsolete, with a disclaimer like "don't even look here, as it's outdated and incomplete and serves no practical purpose" or do we want to preserve it as a historical reference? If it's the latter, then in my view, it should be as accurate and complete as possible. (2) Lastly, it might also make sense to move the NWI page (3) under the DB-WG section. Hope that makes sense. (1) Relevant presentations: https://ripe68.ripe.net/presentations/302-Action_Points.pdf https://ripe69.ripe.net/presentations/105-Action_Points.pdf https://ripe70.ripe.net/presentations/148-Action_Points.pdf https://ripe71.ripe.net/presentations/139-Action_Points.pdf https://ripe72.ripe.net/presentations/18-Action_Points.pdf (2) I'm happy to volunteer to go through the minutes, recordings, and presentations from RIPE 67-72 and update the list if needed. We can add a standard disclaimer to the top of the page that the content is archived. If there is no objection, I can update the page beforehand if you can send me the missing information.

Do you mean, move the NWI page : https://www.ripe.net/manage-ips-and-asns/db/numbered-work-items/ Under : https://www.ripe.net/community/wg/active-wg/db/ If yes, and if the WG agrees, I can move the page with a permanent redirect from the old location. Regards Ed Shryane RIPE NCC

Yes, that was my idea. Best, Piotr -- Piotr Strzyżewski
