Hi Why can I not create an AUT-NUM object in the test database using the web UI? It is not in the drop down menu on the create page. That of course means I can't create ROUTE(6) objects either. So I can't do anything with the routing registry in test mode. Although there is an orange banner across the top of the page saying 'TEST Environment' all the left hand index items refer to the RIPE Database. This is confusing. I would prefer them to refer to the TEST Database. cheers denis co-chair DB-WG

Thanks for pointing this out. The logic for the RIPE database is to not allow aut-nums to be created as they are only assigned by the RIPE NCC. We will make an exception to allow this for the TEST database. As a workaround you can create aut-num objects in the TEST database using Syncupdates: https://apps-test.db.ripe.net/db-web-ui/syncupdates I will also update the documentation to describe the workaround for now: https://www.ripe.net/manage-ips-and-asns/db/ripe-test-database

This is because we use a common page template between the two sites. We will investigate displaying the correct database name in the template. Regards Ed Shryane RIPE NCC
Thanks Ed. Another little tweak you may consider...when I click on the menu items for query, full text search or syncupdates it would be nice if you put the cursor focus into the search box rather than make me do that extra click every time....cos I'm lazy :) cheers denis co-chair DB-WG On Fri, 27 May 2022 at 09:54, Edward Shryane <eshryane@ripe.net> wrote:

It's now possible to create an aut-num object in the TEST database using the web interface: https://apps-test.db.ripe.net/db-web-ui/webupdates/select As explained in the TEST database documentation: https://www.ripe.net/manage-ips-and-asns/db/ripe-test-database you must add TEST-DBM-MNT as a maintainer, which is listed as an "mnt-lower:" on the parent as-block. We are working on your other suggestions and will update separately. Regards Ed Shryane RIPE NCC
