A pointer seems to be the more favoured approach right now.
A pointer would be the right thing to do, IMO. There are already several address blocks from 192/8 which are registered in the RIPE database but are listed as unassigned in ARIN's database. This creates the appearance of a conflict and will probably confuse some people. philip --
