A low blow.... and also one that is incorrect. Look again, "serenaders" rhymes (or is more strictly an assonance) with "made us".
Only in UK English. In North American English, that last r is clearly pronounced, and the vowel before it is quite different from the u in "made us". (Even in UK English, I suspect there is a voicing difference on the terminal sibilant, though that I am much less certain of, and it's closer to ignorable in any case.)
