Greetings, can anyone advise which country should contain the record for 'assigned PA' address? Should it be the country of location of the person/company to which PA was assigned or the country of location of the server and it's datacentre to which it was assigned? Seems, in former case geoip databases will determine the country incorrectly, won't they? But the location of the owner will be seen in both cases in the address field. Is there any RIPE policy regarding that?

This confusion is the reason I always discouraged people from doing IP to country mapping using the RIPE database. However, there is a huge demand for IP-based geo-location, and no other real sources of information, so people do it. So, the best approach is probably to document what you think the most likely location of the users of the IP addresses will be. This is likely to become increasingly difficult due to iPhones and the like, but it is the only tool we have until people start implementing protocols that allow end users to pass this information on.
